Florence Nightingale is recognized as a social Reformer who revolutionized nursing. She is remembered as a visionary who was instrumental in making nursing a respectable profession. Nurses and other health care workers are rightly celebrated as heroes who reduce suffering of the sick and promote wellness in a big way.
I congratulate all the deserving nurses of Karnataka who are being honoured with the Florence Nightingale Award. I hope that the organizers will continue to identify deserving health care workers and motivate them to continue their selfless work with kindness in years to come.

Message
The Florence Nightingale Nurses' Award was instituted in the year 2000. We are proud to share that this year marks its 25th year — a significant Silver Jubilee milestone. We take immense pride in continuing this recognition of the invaluable contributions of the nursing community in the state of Karnataka. I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the winners of 2026.
This year too, the Florence Nightingale Award is being organized by the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Karnataka, in association with the Anglo Indian Unity Centre. As in every year, we received an overwhelming number of entries from across the state. A distinguished jury and panel of judges carefully scrutinized these applications and shortlisted candidates for personal interviews. Following this rigorous process, the finalists were selected.
I would like to sincerely thank the Government of Karnataka for continuing to support this initiative and for awarding a cash prize to each winner. As part of our Silver Jubilee celebrations, on May 12, 2026, International Nurses' Day, we organized a grand cultural event with participation from nursing colleges across Karnataka. We are delighted by the enthusiastic involvement that made the occasion truly memorable.
Heartiest congratulations to all the winners, and my sincere appreciation to the entire nursing fraternity for their dedication and service!

I am extremely pleased to know that the Anglo-Indian Unity Centre (Regd.), co-sponsed with the Department of Health and Family Welfare, is celebrating the Florence Nightingale Awards 2026. Reaching this silver jubilee is a remarkable feat that underscores 25 years of consistent effort in recognizing the silent heroes of our society. As someone who has closely observed the healthcare sector, I believe that while doctors are the brain of a hospital, nurses are its very heart. Their tireless service, often performed under immense pressure, is what sustains our public health system. These awards first established in 2000, are a vital acknowledgement of the meritorious service rendered by BSc Nursing, General Nursing, and Midwifery professionals across Karnataka. I extend my warmest congratulations to all the award recipients for their exemplary dedication. Your service is the true embodiment of the spirit of Florence Nightingale. I also congratulate the organizers for their steadfast commitment to this noble cause for over two decades. I wish the silver jubilee celebrations a grand success.
